I Currently live in Canada. I am 6 feet tall; an avid reader and I love the color black.
Educational Background
Well, it didn’t quite start off like that. I studied Petroleum processing in a Petroleum training Institute in Nigeria where I graduated the best student in the school at the time. I even went on to Study Chemical Engineering up to Master’s Degree Level in the famous University of Benin in Nigeria where I graduated with distinction.
Career Journey so far
I started off my career as an oilfield Process operator with Chevron Nigeria Limited where, in addition to the technical engineering task of producing crude oil, I had the responsibility of reporting, analyzing and presenting crude oil production figures to key stakeholders as well as the management of production database and Personnel-on-board database for all the production facilities in the North Offshore asset area of Escravos, Nigeria. That latter part was not initially part of the job description; I only had to make sure the oil keeps flowing from the wells. However, I did a good job visualizing the production expectations and production level of my team that helped line managers relate to the condition of our wells at a glance that it fast became my main job. This prepared me for a role in Data analytics as I have over the years become fluent with the resources and applications which form the toolkit of a data analyst.
Genesis of Data Analysis
As my Career progressed, I assumed a more formal (yet unofficial) status as a production data analyst in my unit with the responsibilities of entering, analyzing and visualizing production figures as well as creating dashboards of KPIs and presenting same to unit heads and line managers for business decisions. To hone my skills, I have taken the Google certificate course in Data Analytics in 2021 amongst other professional trainings and I am currently on scholarship to complete the Udacity three months Data analytics nano degree. Over time, I have completed projects for my organization that were initially outside my job scope and a few others listed below.
Toolkit
I have had to generate, collate, clean, analyze, visualize and present data to stakeholders. I have a growing fluency in Microsoft excel and writing SQL scripts especially joins, window functions, subqueries and arithmetic functions; I am a budding Python ad R programmer and a growing knowledge of Microsoft Power BI.
Commitment
I am deeply invested in continuous improvement and attempts to add blocs to my skills. My experience, I am convinced, has prepared me to bring value to a data analyst role in an organization that is focused on delivering data driven solutions to business problems as I have over time become comfortable with understanding project goals and objectives, design thinking, analysis of data, visualization of key insights as it applies to project objectives as well as stakeholder interactions.
Joining your team
I believe every organization is unique and I am a very flexible fast learner, more than willing to learn and internalize the culture and beliefs of a unique organization while contributing my experience and uniqueness to further their course. I am sure I will be a valuable addition to your team.
